PIN GUIDE FIXTURE
This Mechanical Design project was assigned to me during an internship in the Summer of 2015. A plastic pin is used to direct fiber bands between certain processing machines and is mounted to a base with an adjustable fixture. The previous fixture did not offer the desired amount of mobility so a new fixture was designed to increase its mobility and to allow fine angle and fine travel adjustment of the pin using knobs.
All prototype parts were created using stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing, thus permitting the opportunity to reduce design iteration time down to a few weeks, compared to months using traditional machining methods.
